Local SEO Singapore

Local SEO in Singapore that wins the map pack — and keeps you there

For businesses with a premises or a service area, the Google map pack is often the whole game. We build the Google Business Profile, citations, reviews and location pages that put you in the top three — and the reputation that keeps you there.

01 — The fundamentals

What local SEO is, and why it matters more in Singapore

Local SEO is the work that gets your business into the map pack — the block of three listings, with a map, that Google shows for searches with local intent. "Physiotherapist near me", "corporate lawyer tanjong pagar", "aircon servicing bukit timah": these return the map pack before they return the ordinary blue links, and for a large share of Singapore businesses that block is where the phone calls come from.

Ordinary organic SEO ranks your website. Local SEO adds a second surface — your Google Business Profile — where the ranking factors are different. Google weighs three things: relevance (does your profile match what was searched), distance (how close you are to the searcher), and prominence (reviews, citations, and the authority of your website). You cannot move your premises, but relevance and prominence are entirely within reach, and that is where the work lives.

Singapore sharpens all of this. It is small, dense, and mobile-first, so proximity searches are constant and the map pack is unusually valuable. The category leaders in legal, aesthetics, property and finance have spent years accumulating reviews and citations — but they also tend to ignore the specific districts and long-tail service queries where a focused competitor can win. Local SEO is not a bolt-on here. For many businesses it is the primary channel.

Local SEO sits inside our wider SEO service. The map pack and your website rankings reinforce each other — a stronger site lifts your profile, and vice versa. If you want the full picture, start with our SEO marketing services; this page covers the local half in depth.

02 — What we cover

The four levers of local ranking

A complete, correct Google Business Profile is the foundation. Citations, reviews and location pages are what separate the top three from the rest.

Google Business Profile

The single biggest local lever, and the one most businesses leave half-built. We complete and optimise every field that influences ranking and clicks.

  • Primary and secondary category strategy
  • Services, products and attributes
  • Posts, offers and photo cadence
  • Q&A seeding and messaging setup
  • Description and business information accuracy
  • Profile insights tracked month to month

Citations & NAP consistency

Your Name, Address and Phone number must match everywhere Google finds them. Conflicting listings quietly erode ranking; fixing them is high-return and low-cost.

  • Full NAP audit across the web
  • Singapore business directory citations
  • Duplicate and conflicting listing cleanup
  • Industry and association listings
  • Consistent formatting from site to profile
  • Ongoing citation monitoring

Reviews & reputation

Review volume, recency, rating and your responses all feed prominence — and often decide between two similar businesses. We build the habit, honestly.

  • Review-generation workflow at the right moment
  • Response templates for every review, good or bad
  • Steady velocity rather than one-off bursts
  • Negative-review recovery process
  • No bought, incentivised or fake reviews. Ever.
  • Live GBP review feed on your site — once reviews are real

Location & service-area pages

Genuine pages for the areas you actually serve — each distinct and useful. Not a hundred near-identical doorway pages with the district name swapped.

  • One page per area you truly serve
  • Service-area architecture for mobile businesses
  • Distinct, locally relevant content
  • Internal links up to the parent service
  • Multi-outlet structure without cannibalisation
  • Local schema done correctly

03 — How ranking works

Relevance, distance, prominence

Google is unusually open about how the map pack ranks. Three factors decide it, and two of them are things we can actively improve.

You cannot change how close your premises are to a given searcher. What you can change is how completely your profile signals what you do, and how prominent your business looks to Google through reviews, citations and a strong website. Most local wins come from closing the gap on those two.

This is also why local SEO and your wider SEO and website work are not separate projects. Website authority feeds map-pack prominence; the map pack feeds site traffic. Run apart, they underperform.

Relevance

How well your Business Profile matches the search. Correct primary category, complete services, and accurate business information do most of the heavy lifting here.

Distance

How close you are to the searcher. Fixed for a storefront; for a service-area business, honestly declaring the areas you cover is what widens your reach — not inventing addresses.

Prominence

How well known and trusted you are: reviews, citations, and your website's authority. This is the compounding lever, and the one competitors find hardest to copy.

04 — Our local SEO process

Five stages, in this order

We diagnose before we prescribe. Cleaning up your profile and citations before chasing reviews is what makes the reviews count.

01

Audit

Profile, citations, reviews and competitors in the map pack you're targeting.

02

Foundation

Optimise the Business Profile, fix NAP, clean up duplicate and conflicting listings.

03

On-site local

Location and service-area pages, local schema, internal links to the service hub.

04

Signals

Review generation and response, local citations and links, ongoing posts.

05

Reporting

Calls, direction requests and leads from local — the numbers that pay the bill.

Pricing

We don't publish packages. Here's why.

A single-location business and a fifteen-outlet chain need completely different work, and a fixed local tier would overcharge one and underserve the other. We scope after the audit, quote a specific figure, and hold it. Local retainers typically sit at the lower end of our SGD 1,500–12,000 range, depending on how many locations you run.

05 — Local SEO FAQ

Straight answers about local SEO

The map pack is the block of three business listings with a map that appears near the top of local searches like "seo agency near me" or "dentist tanjong pagar". Getting in is decided mostly by three things: relevance (does your Google Business Profile match the search), distance (how close you are to the searcher), and prominence (reviews, citations and your website's authority). We work all three, but a complete, correctly categorised Business Profile is the foundation everything else sits on.

Google Business Profile changes can move within weeks, which makes local faster to show early results than organic SEO. Reliable, defensible ranking in a competitive Singapore category still takes roughly 8 to 12 weeks to establish and continues to compound after that as reviews and citations accumulate. Anyone promising the top of the map pack in days is describing a category with no competition, not a method.

You need either a physical address customers can visit or a defined service area you travel to. Google Business Profile supports both. A genuine storefront gives you the strongest signal; a service-area business can still rank well by declaring the areas of Singapore it serves. What you cannot do is invent addresses to appear in more areas — fake locations get profiles suspended, and the recovery is painful.

Very. Review volume, recency, rating and how you respond all feed prominence, and they are often the deciding factor between two otherwise similar businesses. We build an honest review-generation workflow that asks satisfied customers at the right moment and a response process for every review, good or bad. We never buy, incentivise or fake reviews — it breaches Google's policy and the risk dwarfs the benefit.

NAP is your Name, Address and Phone number. Consistency means they appear identically everywhere your business is listed — your website, Google Business Profile, and every directory and citation. When they conflict, Google's confidence in which details are correct drops, and so can your ranking. A NAP audit that finds and fixes inconsistent or duplicate listings is one of the highest-return, lowest-cost pieces of local SEO.

Yes, with genuine location or service-area pages — one per area you actually serve, each with distinct, useful content. What we will not build is a hundred near-identical doorway pages with the district name swapped, because Google treats those as spam and they rarely rank anyway. For multi-outlet businesses we design a location architecture that avoids the outlets competing with each other.

They overlap but the levers differ. Regular (organic) SEO is about ranking your website pages in the standard blue-link results. Local SEO adds the map pack and Google Business Profile, where category selection, proximity, reviews and citations matter as much as your website. Most Singapore businesses with premises need both, run together — which is why local sits inside our wider SEO service rather than beside it.
