01 — The premise

Your website is the last hundred metres of every campaign

Every dollar you spend on SEO, paid social and PR passes through the same funnel exit: a page where someone decides to enquire, or doesn't. That makes conversion rate the highest-leverage number in your marketing, and yet it is the one most businesses have never deliberately measured.

We approach a website build as an engineering problem with an aesthetic requirement, not the reverse. Beautiful is table stakes. What separates a site that pays for itself from one that sits there is whether it loads fast enough to be seen, says the right thing quickly enough to be understood, and removes enough friction to be acted on.

The three questions every visitor asks in the first eight seconds are: what is this, is it for me, and what happens next. If your hero section answers "we are a leading provider of innovative solutions", you have answered none of them.

Two things decide whether that page works on the device most Singaporeans actually use: whether it is genuinely responsive across every screen, and, if you sell online, whether the store itself is built to convert. Still weighing up who to hire? Our honest guide to choosing a web design company in Singapore lays out what to look for.

Design and SEO are not separate projects. The most expensive mistake in this industry is commissioning a beautiful site from a design studio, then hiring an SEO agency to fix it. Heading structure, URL architecture, internal linking, image handling and render-blocking scripts are design decisions. Retrofitting them costs more than building them right.

02 — What we build

Four kinds of site, four different jobs

The brief determines the build. A corporate site and a landing page share a codebase and almost nothing else.

Business & corporate websites

For companies whose website has to establish credibility before a salesperson ever speaks. Clear service architecture, proof and case studies where objections arise, and a content structure that can grow without a rebuild.

  • Service and solution page hierarchies
  • Team, credentials and E-E-A-T signals
  • Multi-language and multi-market variants
  • CMS your marketing team can actually use

Ecommerce & WooCommerce

Product discovery that works, checkout flows that don't leak, and a category architecture built to rank rather than to mirror your warehouse.

  • WooCommerce and Shopify builds
  • Faceted navigation without index bloat
  • Product and collection schema
  • Checkout and cart abandonment optimisation

Ecommerce web design in Singapore

Landing pages

Single-purpose pages for a single campaign. One offer, one action, no navigation to escape through. Built to be tested, not admired.

  • Message-match to the ad that drove the click
  • A/B test infrastructure from day one
  • Form analytics and drop-off tracking
  • Sub-second load on paid traffic

Website redesign & migration

The highest-risk project in digital marketing. Traffic disappears when redirects, URL structure and metadata are treated as an afterthought, so we plan for exactly where it can go before anything moves.

  • Pre-launch crawl and URL mapping
  • Redirect implementation and testing
  • Metadata and schema preservation
  • Eight weeks of post-launch monitoring

03 — Platforms

WordPress, WooCommerce, and knowing when not to use them

WordPress powers a large share of the web for good reasons: your team can publish without a developer, the plugin ecosystem covers nearly every requirement, and any agency in Singapore can maintain it if we part ways. For content-led and corporate sites it is almost always our recommendation.

What we avoid is how most WordPress sites get built. A multipurpose theme from a marketplace loads eleven stylesheets, four JavaScript libraries and a page builder that outputs six nested divs where one would do. The site looks fine and scores 34 on mobile PageSpeed. We build lean — a custom theme, or a disciplined implementation in Bricks or GeneratePress, with only the plugins that earn their weight.

WooCommerce

For ecommerce with complex product logic, subscription models, or a need to own the data layer completely, WooCommerce gives more control than hosted alternatives. It also demands more engineering discipline, particularly around faceted navigation, which will happily generate two million crawlable URL combinations if nobody stops it.

When we recommend something else

Shopify, when the client wants operational simplicity over control and the catalogue is straightforward. A static or headless front-end, when the content is largely fixed and speed at scale is the binding constraint. And occasionally, we recommend that a business does not rebuild at all — that the money is better spent on the three template fixes and the content revision that would move the number they actually care about.

04 — Performance

Core Web Vitals and the cost of a slow site

Speed is not a technical vanity metric. It is the first conversion step, and it happens before your headline is read.

Largest Contentful Paint

How long until the main content appears. Google's threshold for "good" is 2.5 seconds. Most Singapore business sites we audit land between four and seven on mobile. Every second above the threshold measurably reduces the number of people who stay.

Interaction to Next Paint

How quickly the page responds when someone taps. Heavy JavaScript, third-party tag managers and chat widgets are the usual culprits. A page that renders fast but freezes on tap feels broken.

Cumulative Layout Shift

Whether the layout jumps as things load. Caused by images without dimensions, injected banners, and fonts that swap late. It is the reason people tap the wrong button and leave annoyed.

How we get to 95+

Server-side and edge caching. Critical CSS inlined, the rest deferred. JavaScript reduced to what the page genuinely needs, loaded with defer. Modern image formats sized responsively and lazy-loaded below the fold. Fonts subset and preloaded. Third-party scripts audited ruthlessly — a marketing team's tag stack is often the single largest performance liability on a site, and nobody has ever asked whether all eleven tags are still in use.

Responsive, not just adaptive

Mobile-first is not a layout choice; it is an admission that most of your Singapore traffic arrives on a phone, often on a train, on a connection that is not what your office wifi suggests. We build and test against real device conditions and throttled networks, not a desktop browser resized narrow. Touch targets, thumb reach, and form input types get the same attention as the desktop grid.

05 — Security & maintenance

The unglamorous work that protects everything else

An outdated plugin can undo two years of SEO in an afternoon. The pattern is well documented: an injected pharmacy spam directory, thousands of indexed junk URLs, a manual action, and months of recovery.

What maintenance actually includes

  • Staged updates. Core, theme and plugin updates applied to a staging clone, tested, then promoted. Never straight to production.
  • Daily off-site backups with tested restores. An untested backup is a hope, not a plan.
  • Uptime and malware monitoring with alerting, plus a hardened configuration: file permissions, login protection, disabled file editing.
  • SSL, security headers and a WAF at the edge.
  • Monthly health report covering performance, uptime, updates applied, and anything that needs a decision.

06 — Conversion optimisation

Doubling revenue without doubling traffic

Lifting a conversion rate from 1.2% to 2.4% doubles the revenue from the same traffic. That is almost always cheaper than doubling the traffic, and it makes every acquisition channel you run more profitable simultaneously.

How we find the leaks

  • Form analytics. Which field do people abandon at? It is usually the phone number, or a required field that has no business being required.
  • Session recordings and heatmaps to see where attention goes and where rage-clicks happen.
  • Funnel analysis in GA4, properly configured, to find the step where intent evaporates.
  • Structured testing. One hypothesis, one variable, enough traffic to reach significance. Not a redesign dressed up as an experiment.

The most common wins are boring: fewer form fields, a phone number that is tappable on mobile, social proof positioned where the objection occurs rather than at the bottom, and a call to action that names the outcome instead of saying "submit".

07 — Build process

How a project runs

01

Discovery

Goals, audience, competitors, and the one action the site must produce.

02

Architecture

Sitemap, URL structure and wireframes. SEO decisions made before pixels.

03

Design

A design system, not a set of pages. Reviewed on real devices.

04

Build

Semantic HTML, accessible components, staged environment, weekly demos.

05

Launch

Redirects, schema, analytics, and eight weeks of monitoring afterwards.

Accessibility is not optional. Semantic HTML, ARIA where it genuinely helps, keyboard-navigable interfaces, visible focus states and sufficient colour contrast. This is both a legal consideration in several of our clients' markets and, not incidentally, the same structure search engines rely on to understand a page.

08 — Web design FAQ

Questions about building and rebuilding

Our 2026 launch pricing is published and fixed: from S$690 for a focused small-business site, S$1,490 for a growing multi-page business site, and S$3,900 for a larger custom build — all one-time, quoted against a written scope with no hourly surprises. These are genuine launch rates, held for new clients until 31 December 2026 and well below typical Singapore agency project fees.

A focused site can go live in roughly two to four weeks; a larger multi-page or custom build in about four to eight. The variable that moves the date is rarely development speed — it is content, stakeholder feedback cycles and third-party integrations, so we build the content deadline into the project plan from the start.

We build both, and we recommend the right one honestly. For most business and marketing sites we recommend a hand-coded, static HTML build — the same approach this very site uses. Static HTML is far faster than WordPress because there is no database, no PHP and no plugins to render on every visit: the pages are pre-built and served straight from a CDN. That means near-instant loads, top Core Web Vitals, a much smaller attack surface (no plugins to exploit, no login to break into) and cheaper, simpler hosting. We recommend WordPress only when you genuinely need to edit content yourself every week, run a large blog, or sell through WooCommerce — accepting the trade-off of more weight, maintenance and security upkeep. When in doubt we start with HTML and add a lightweight CMS only where you actually need one.

Core Web Vitals are three measures of user experience: Largest Contentful Paint, which measures loading; Interaction to Next Paint, which measures responsiveness; and Cumulative Layout Shift, which measures visual stability. They are confirmed ranking signals. More importantly, they correlate with conversion. A site that fails them loses money before it loses rankings.

It can, catastrophically, when done without a migration plan. The risks are unmapped redirects, changed URL structures, lost internal links and stripped metadata. Every redesign we run includes a full pre-launch crawl, a URL mapping document, redirect implementation and testing, and post-launch monitoring for at least eight weeks.

Yes, scaled to how your site is built. A static HTML site needs very little — content edits, dependency checks, off-site backups and uptime monitoring. A WordPress site needs more: core, theme and plugin updates applied on a staging site first, daily off-site backups, uptime and malware monitoring, security patching and a monthly health report. Unmaintained WordPress sites do get compromised — it is a matter of when, not whether.

Often, yes. If the underlying platform is sound, a template-level redesign with speed and conversion work delivers most of the benefit at a fraction of the cost and risk. We assess this honestly during the audit. A rebuild only makes sense when the platform or information architecture genuinely blocks what you need to do.

We recommend and configure hosting rather than resell it, so the account stays in your name and you are never locked in. A static HTML site can run on fast, low-cost hosting or a global CDN with almost nothing to maintain; a WordPress site needs a managed host with regional caching and backups. Either way, we handle the setup, migration and ongoing configuration.

The disciplined practice of increasing the percentage of visitors who take the action you want. It combines analytics review, session recordings, form analytics and structured testing. Lifting a conversion rate from 1.2 per cent to 2.4 per cent doubles revenue from the same traffic, which is usually cheaper than doubling the traffic.

You do, completely. Domain, hosting account, source code, design files and content. We hand over documentation and a training session. There are no proprietary licences that stop another developer from taking over.
